Again a boat in the Maltese SAR zone! ~27 people in distress reached out to Alarmphone. They fled from Libya seeking a safe place. We demand authorities to not delay rescue!

We are in continuous contact with the ~27 people who still are out at sea, at risk of drowning. Wind and waves got rough and the people lost orientation. But no rescue is in sight yet.
Don't let them drown!

The ~27 people in distress are desperate. We provided them with the emergency number of RCC #Malta. They tried to reach them to call for help but they are also not getting through. RCC stands for Rescue Coordination Centre. How can people in need of rescue not get through?

The ~27 ppl are still drifting in high waves & strong winds. They told us that the #Maridive601 which they can see close by, refuses to rescue them since this morning. They can see another ship in the distance. Malta was alerted 15h+ ago, why are they not coordinating a rescue?

Nothing has changed so far for the ~27 people who are drifting in high waves & strong winds. A merchant vessel is still on standby, waiting for instructions by RCC Malta who had now over 16 hours to do so. We ask again: why is Malta not coordinating a rescue operation?
