I know some of the young women this man abused and bullied. And I believe them. The University is culpable as well. A learning institution has a responsibility to provide students with a safe learning environment. No one should be subjected to this kind of harassment.
In my 14 years of post-secondary education, I have encountered some toxic profs. But this really takes the cake. He crushed talented young musicians to feed his ego. He took advantage of his position. This is entirely shameful.
And now, to have the arbitrator, Arne Peltz, not only rule that the university owes him money, he also said he should get his teaching job back. That is not what unions are for. They are not for putting predators back in their hunting grounds. Shame on Mr. Peltz.
