Hon’bl MoS H&UA @HardeepSPuri Ji along with Hon’bl Ministers of Urban Development of various States/UTs addressed DMs/SSPs/MCs of 125 cities selected for saturation by Sept 2020 under #PMSVANidhi yesterday. Union Home Secretary, DGPs of States/UTs also participated in the Webinar

While #PMSVANidhi provides micro credit facility to the vendors, it is necessary to ensure that they are able to pursue their business without any fear, harassment or damage. Several other implementation issues on the ground were also discussed.

Hon’ble MoS urged district/ ULB officials to hold periodic meetings with key stakeholders for successful implementation of the Scheme & resolving all issues being encountered on the ground.

Hon'ble MoS launched a Mobile App for ULB functionaries. The App will provide user friendly digital interface for functionaries of ULBs to source loan applications of street vendors. This will extend the the outreach. Earlier Mobile App was accessible to Lending Institutions only.

We decided to conduct complete socio-economic profile of all beneficiaries to facilitate them to receive benefits under other Central/ State government welfare schemes e.g. PMAY(U), Aayushman Bharat, Ujjawala, Jan Dhan Yojana, Saubhagya, DAY-NULM etc.

They should also be made available other life transforming benefits like children education, health etc.

We also decided to provide distinct identity & certificate of vending to all #PMSVANidhi beneficiaries.

It was suggested to states/UTs to provide solar energy lights/equipments to street vendors for them to continue working at night for food stalls etc. Some States offered to modernise the vending cart.

Till date, 5.7 lakh applications have been received, over 1.30 lakh sanctioned & 37,000+ loans disbursed in across States/UTs.This ambitious scheme aims to provide a dignified living for our street vendors & bring them into the formal economy & contribute to #AtmaNirbharBharat.
