For my new followers from this summer: I host a monthly twitter chat during school months called #GlobalSPED. It was born out of my trip to Bangladesh where I mentored some of that country's first Special Ed teachers. So, for half an hour Sunday night-we chat live.

Though #GlobalSPED focuses on teachers who work with kids with special needs, our topics, advice, and experience spread from general ed classrooms, Inclusive classrooms, every level of #SpecialEducation, home schooling and specialized schools. (more)

I should probably point out, that I'm the crazy guy/wizard behind the curtain making all the gifs-setting the tone. I just ask the questions, but the incredible information that #GlobalSPED teachers share will give you an incredible resource for your classroom/child.

Generally #GlobalSPED is a platform for the best practices we are using in our classrooms. Imagine having a teacher buddy down the room who has seen it all and knows of some resources you.

Generally, I keep politics out of things, but the idea of #GlobalSPED is we share best practice. The US Dept of Ed and @BetsyDeVosED have failed us. They have ignored best practice. This week I'm afraid that topic is coming up. Our students deserve better.
