Day 4 of the Julian #Assange hearing.
Will be posting live updates below
Off to a dubious start – the prosecution hasn't showed and proceedings have not begun due to COVID related issues.
Lewis QC of the prosecution, says via video link that he forgot his laptop charger at the court and only has 30 mins of battery left.
The obvious question here is: if it's not safe for members of the court, why is it safe for Julian to be in court and Belmarsh? Keep in mind, COVID has already killed at least one inmate there and Julian's health is at higher risk w/ breathing problems.
Fitzgerald of Julian's defense asks for court to be adjourned during a case management hearing, seeing as they are all at risk of a COVID outbreak.
Lewis of the prosecution agrees, asks for adjournment until Monday and til everyone has been tested.
#BREAKING: Judge Baraitser has decided to postpone the #Assange extradition hearing until Monday due to COVID related issues.
