This is a big win! The Constitution declares that apportionment of Federal Representatives shall be based on the counting of EVERY PERSON in our country.
Any attempt to prevent individuals from being counted is unconstitutional and undermines the integrity of the #2020census.
We won’t let this administration intimidate or silence immigrant communities. I was proud to pass an amendment to the #NDAA that nullified the effect of Trump’s Executive Order that requires Federal agencies to share citizenship data.

We must extend key #2020census deadlines and ensure all communities are represented and accurately counted. That’s why I joined @RepMaloney in support of the Fair and Accurate Census Act to do exactly that.
We owe it to our children, neighbors, communities and our future to be counted. As Chair of the @TheBlackCaucus #2020census Task Force, I’ll continue to fight against any violation to our right to #BeCounted.
