Only 8% have received cooked mid-day meals. Yesterday govt also confirmed in parliament that they have been unable to deliver mid-day meal but food security allowance & dry ration delivery is not great either.

Whoever managed to receive instructions / education during the pandemic, WhatsApp and calls have been popular mediums but with challenges like low speed/ no internet.

84% govt school teachers faced challenges in delivering education with 40% teachers lacking device to deliver education themselves.
Number is 80% in UP!

Teachers say textbooks are must to continue education. However the central govt hasn't provided any data on textbook delivery yet.

All teachers are worried about the safely of children as schools lack WSH facilities and some are being used as quarantine facilities.

This is significant. 40% of teachers believe that a third of the students won't come back to school. Govt needs to take concrete steps to combat huge spike in dropout rates.

Teachers are essential frontline workers yet they haven't been given PPE or hazard pay. Almost none of them are protected by insurance.

On the other hand, private schools have continued their loot despite govt notifications and orders around fee hikes.
This shows we need strong legislation to regulate private school.

Parents in states with fees related notification show lower rate of fees collection than state with no notification against fees collection.

This shows that govt orders and notifications work if desired.
