Here's an FAQ on the #deathpenalty for #drugs in #Singapore, covering the basic mechanics of how it works and also my responses to common questions and comments. wethecitizens.substack.com/p/faq-the-deat…

Here's a summary of the whirlwind past few days:
- Syed Suhail bin Syed Zin was scheduled to hang on 18 Sept (today), but was granted a stay of execution. His next court hearing is 22nd September, but @MRavilaw has another application to make after that.

- While it's a relief that Syed got a stay, we don't know how much time that will actually translate to, so it's important that people still keep talking about his case, writing to their MPs, and signing this petition: change.org/p/singapore-an…

- At the same time, it has been confirmed that Moad Fadzir bin Mustaffa has been scheduled to hang on 24 September 2020 (Thursday), less than a week away.

This is the main part of the letter that his mother received. ⬇️

- According to Syed, there are over 50 people on death row in #Singapore. Inmates who have exhausted their clemency appeal process will be at risk of imminent execution.

As Syed told his sister, this is not just about him and his life, but about everyone on death row.
