A brief update, COVID is exploding in the 3rd wave

The 3rd wave (Ashura wave) which is mainly due to Ashura ceremonies is fiercely exploding into our face. Not that most official data matters but even those are pointing to a wave probably worse than the 2nd wave (and 2nd wave was worse than 1st).
Qom (1.2M), the original epicentre, has seen an explosion of cases. In a matter of a week or so the admitted cases almost doubled. It is now at 631 compared to <100 after the 1st wave and before the 2nd.
Deputy Health Minister has said that ALL the country is now in status Red. This is unprecedented in both 1st and 2nd wave.
Daily admissions in Tabriz (1.8M) from 40 up to 160.
We have just had warnings from the officials in Khuzestan who experienced a fierce 2nd wave: "Something deeply sad is happening under our eyes.".
Well, same officials promoted Ashura ceremonies... #CrocodileTears
To be honest the news are very depressing in Iran. So let me be brief and leave you with this tonight:
The sentence of amputating 4 fingers of the right hand of three minors for [petty] theft has been upheld in the High Court and to be done.
