No reason to believe McConnell jamming another SCOTUS pick helps the GOP. It didn't help in 2018, and the corrupt Impeachment process hurt GOP Senate candidates.
A lot will depend on how radical the pick is. Do we think suburbanites want the end of Roe v Wade, ACA, more guns?
I also think it's time for Dems to address the GOP's descent into illiberalism, their rancid disregard for democratic norms, their relentless cheating in the 2020 election, their growing lawlessness. All 3 Trump SCOTUS processes have been problematic.
Early arguments that the illicit SCOTUS process helps the GOP I think are wrong. Public has rejected Trump McConnell's politics this year, and are voting to give them less power, not more. Has the potential to feel illiberal, craven, un-American.
