#AmerFort & Jaigarh Fort are considered 1 complex, as the 2 are connected by subterranean passage (tunnel). This passage was meant as an escape route in times of war to enable royal family members & others in the Amer Fort to shift to the more redoubtable Jaigarh Fort.

The main entry is through Suraj Pol which leads to first main courtyard. This was the place where armies would hold victory parades with their war bounty on their return from battles, which were also witnessed by Royal family's womenfolk through latticed windows.

The building to the left of entrance gate is called the Jai Mandir, which is exquisitely embellished with glass inlaid panels and multi-mirrored ceilings. Also known as Sheesh Mahal, the mirror mosaics and colored glasses were a "glittering jewel box in flickering candlelight".

Sukh Niwas entrance is a sandalwood door. The palace was made cool through pipes with water supply which produced an air-conditioned environment. The Sukh Niwas has a magic flower which is a marble panel carved on a pillar and it has 7 varied designs carved on it.
