As we’ve documented since the beginning of the pandemic, transfers have accelerated the number of #COVID19 cases in detention and have even directly to death #FreeThemAll

This legislation would:
1. Stop inter-facility transfers during the pandemic
2. Stop jail/prison to ICE transfers during the pandemic
3. Require ICE to comply with CDC guidance in its facilities, including social distancing
4. Require ICE to release people to comply
Too many lives have been lost to COVID-19 and many more lives are at stake.
We are proud to lead support for this bill, and grateful to all of the tireless work of volunteers & staff across the country who have been documenting the dangerous impact of transfers.
Shout out to organizers & advocates pushing to end transfers from local jails and state prisons to ICE custody. These transfers to ICE are directly responsible for funneling people into immigration detention, and putting them in harm's way. This bill would halt *all* transfers.
