Why nobody wants to talk to Western journalists in Xinjiang? Understanding the catastrophic western investigative journalism
I watched a documentary on German French channel ARTE on #Xinjiang. This is how a French journalist from the French leftist
2/newspaper LIBERATION conducts her interviews. She walks into a police station and asks the police, "We've come to visit the #Uighurconcentrationcamp. Can you show us where it is?" Police waved her away with impatience, "There's no such a thing as concentration camp!"
3/ I admired the restraint of the police officer. If this happened in the US, I'm afraid that the journalist would be dismissed in a more forceful manner. "Go fuck yourself" is more likely the answer she would get. The treatment international journalists are met with while
4/ reporting on the US protests would give you an idea. The French journalist asks the question for the sole purpose of illustrating the "official cover-up" of the crime of concentration camp which she puts forward as a given and her reporting of the reactions of people
5/ serves to further prove its veracity.
Then this genius of a journalist showed a street where there is nobody and said
"Look, all the people of the village are locked up in the concentration camp, that's why the village is vacant." To present such an irrefutable damning
6/ evidence of the existence of the concentration camp, you would think the journalist would at least give the name of the village and its location? None. Just an empty street is shown. It could just be it's too early in the morning and people haven't gotten up yet! 😨
7/ Maybe the journalist is afraid that of she gives the name and location of the village, CGTN will run a live broadcast with throngs of people in the background?
From there to conclude that all the people are locked up in concentration camps requires a leap of faith which is
8/ certainly incompatible with the basic principles of investigative journalism?
What kind of investigative training has French journalist received? This is not journalism, it's outright falsehood.
This woman journalist further went on to ask people around about
9/ concentration camps. Nobody wants to talk to her which again is "tangible" proof a crime is hidden.
The moment she sees a closed shop. She would ask, "Where are these people? Have they been sent to the concentration camp? " She met with annoyance everywhere. For her, it's
10/ "people are being gagged". She would then interview adolescent children whose parents are studying in vocational school which is presented as concentration camp. She asked the children why their parents are sent to the school. The kid answered, "I don't know."
11/ All such neutral answers given by the children to her questions are interpreted as censor because of the risk of being punished. Wow, any reaction is justifiable as a proof of the existence of the camps.
12/ This US journalist Fifield is probably using the same method, ie, not to investigate but to scour signs to solidify patch up a gigantic propaganda lie with gaping holes. Their concern is how to divert public's attention away from gaping holes to minute details.
13/ The details include less Muslim women wearing scarves and people unwilling to talk to Western journalists now sealed and stamped as people being threatened into silence.
Nobody wants to talk to Western journalists in Xinjiang for the simple reason that their reportings are
14/ shameless propaganda lies.
These lies are hurting the reputation and economy of Xinjiang. Because of their monstrous lies, Xinjiang goods cannot sell abroad, thus destroying the livelihoods of Xinjiang people including Uighur livelihoods. Western journalism has become
15/a weapon of mass destruction destroying countries with their lies. They have destroyed Iraq, Syria and now they want to do the same to China.
Talking about less women wearing scarves and less men having beards as a sign of religious persecution, how about Fifield
16/investigate situation of Muslims in France? In the name of secularism, external signs of religion are forbidden in France. With a heavy Muslim population, you hardly see any Muslim women wearing scarves in the streets. Muslim scarf is an ongoing issue tearing France apart.
17/ How about doing a comparison of the number of Muslim women wearing scarves in China with those in France? The result would be surprising.
Western style of investigative journalism on Uighurs is first to invent a non existent monstrous crime and then ask people the
18/ assumptive
suggestive question "Where's the crime scene" Maybe they expect that people, caught offguard, would give away the hidden venue. The fact that so far nobody has been caught offguard and given away the secret is also considered damning proof. It means behind the
19/ silence, there's the menacing dictatorship. Whatever reaction is evidence of the crime. How the Western journalists can pull this off and still manage to fool the public with their bluffing is amazing.
The self serving loop of chain of evidence of the concentration camp
20/ based on thoroughly faulty logic which crumbles at the slightest scrutiny is thus continuously trusted to the Western public.
It's just as if you abruptly ask people in the street "Where is the body? "
People would think you're mind-fucked.
21/ But instead of the journalists being perceived as nutcases, people are persuaded to perceive the annoyance and dismissiveness of Xinjiang people interviewed as suspicious and damning.
Are these journalists stupid? Of course not. They've received rigorous training.
22/ They know they are not doing journalism. They know they are tools of propaganda.
Many journalists corrupt and are devoid of any morals whatsoever. Talking about the violation of human rights, journalists of LIBERATION could have investigated their own journalists.
23/ Carla Bruni's assistant wrote a book about his tragic childhood. He was raised in a camp where children were given to adults to rape. As a child, he was raped by a famous journalist of Liberation. After the revelation, has there been any government or media
investigation
24/ into the matter? None.
How about cleaning their own house first and run investigative journalism on sex camps involving their own journalists instead of going to the other end of the globe to dredge evidence for non existent crimes?
Of course, this is too much to expect.
25/ Just like BBC, who knew about elite pedophile rings run by their own Jimmy Savile for decades but kept mum.
This focusing on non existent crimes probably serves as a smoke screen to cover up the real heinous crimes.
