Supreme Court three-judge bench to shortly pronounce judgment on the plea seeking refund of airline fare for tickets booked during #lockdown

When the court had reserved its judgment, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had clarified the Centre's stand that the credit shell facility could not be availed by travel agents who booked tickets during lockdown.

Centre had also submitted that government could not control contractual obligations between agents and passengers.

Justice Ashok Bhushan: Accepting the if any ticket is purchased through agents, the shell has to be utilised only through agents

SC: All recommendations by Director General of Civil Aviation is accepted in too. (fully)

The only clarification is that if tickets purchased through agents, then refund too will be to the agents.
