He was charged with embezzlement of public funds

John Phillips (County Supervisor) listed Joey’s dad, Joe Banuelos Sr. as an endorser to his Supervisor race - that is not a coincidence

We leave our trust and faith in the rule of law. We put the information in the hands of the proper channels - like the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office and they give back ... corruption ... corruption ... and more corruption, and tell everyone “it’s normal.”

Then fired Sgt. Joey Banuelos hired Tom Worthington and his son Brian Worthington - who once again had a fixed deck to work with.

Judge Russ Scott - a corrupt judge (“retired”) from Monterey County was assigned the case.

Gary Thelander was the DA who handled the case

With Merideth Sillman (her dad was a former DA and corrupt former Judge on the local bench) - assisting.

(For those following along the local issues of Trumpism Merideth Sillman handled the Mike Hackett violation of probation case that was swept under the rug)

Thelander no longer works for the District Attorney’s office. Since 2014 the dude has been working private practice defense work.

He also had an issue involving a trust and $900,000 - according to @mcweekly’s @maryrduan.

Sounds like the perfect vulnerability.

You reported on this didn’t you @bradleyzeve? About this rogue cop who was charged, had the charges quietly dismissed (no report by sleazy @FelixKSBW) and was rehired?

Joey is doing quite well at OUR expense. Thank Judge John Phillips for that.

Hard to claim the @FBISanFrancisco and @USAO_NDCA is wrong for coming to Monterey County and performing a clean investigation (multi-year) into the corrupt public officials in this region.

It’s out of control and those that suffer the most from civil rights violations

actual false charges, misappropriation of public funds and other abuses at the hands of local cops - like those at @SalinasPD and @MontereyPolice, are left out in the cold by the malpractice of outfits like the @mcweekly, @montereyherald and @salnews.

in for this case? Because Joey Banuelos was hanging out with a couple of his girlfriends while he was on the @MCoSheriff clock.

One of his girlfriends was MoCo 911 Dispatcher Leslie Ragghanti.

Her father, then a Sgt. with Monterey Police (and total jerk) was interviewed.

As was this @MineauMCSO - who disappeared himself - even though @SheriffBernal has him running the Department as Undersheriff.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again - Monterey County public officials are going to federal prison. Of that, I have know doubt.

When and where?

That remains to be seen. But I’m community after community it is clear - Trump is a symptom of a much larger problem.
