(1) Historic. One of his best messages ever. If he was reading some of it, that didn't show. Authentic, warm, heartfelt.
Some context below re "...there's never been a great leader that would've done that."
#Courage #MAGA🇺🇸
(2) When he said those words I had to re-listen a few times to be sure of what he meant. No doubt, our opponents will exploit the ambiguity.
He means: I had the option of hiding away, or moving to my offices here, and I moved here because (many reasons, including:)
(3) That his decisions are always based on what is best for the USA and the world. Those two audiences could really do with an optimism boost right now.
Think about the character of the Chinese regime, and want they wanted out of this pandemic. (Whether LIHOP or planned.)
(4) Trump has always had a great gift in turning a bad situation around. And he has studied history's great leaders, esp. Churchill, who gave the archetypal example of an effective leader in a crisis.
Churchill was fucking extraordinary. And he had pneumonia, at the WH.
(5) Like Trump, Churchill was constantly criticized for his lifestyle choices, and it's a miracle that he lived to the age of 90, while smoking cigars, drinking heavily, being obese (in later life), sleeping little (at times) and doing one stressful job after the other.
(6) I could write about Churchill and Trump all day so I'll stop there, lol.
Trump wants to be a "great leader" bc that is what America needs. Objectively, he already is one.
This event is just another choice between courage and weakness. He chose courage, & kept on working.
(7) You can hear in his voice and breathing, that Trump does indeed have a (mild) upper respiratory tract infection. It could get worse, & he admits that, more than once.
I'd be extremely surprised if it did, but I'd survive. He's not the only great leader on the GOP bench.
(8) When we got the news of the Trumps' positive test results, I knew they would handle it very well, but they have exceeded even my expectations.
Very high chance that in a few weeks, folk everywhere will be more optimistic and courageous about the challenges we still face.
(9) Don't let the losers get you down. Ignore or laugh at them.
We're the adults in the room; the worst of the Democrats just keep on digging. Swing voters, and many hitherto Democrat voters, see it clear as day now.
We shall #NeverSurrender.
