📍DON’T CHASE SWEDISH HERD STRATEGY. As many know, 🇸🇪 took the careless “herd” strategy in spring to let the coronavirus run rampant. Huge #COVID19 deaths compared to its Nordic neighbors. But Swedish leaders claim they built herd & will win in 2nd wave. Here is how it’s going:
2) Swedish model... for all the deaths that Sweden 🇸🇪 suffered, was it even worth the improved economic benefit as proponents touted? Was 8-10x the #Covid19 total deaths worth it?
Answer: No & No.
Lesson: Don’t chase herd immunity without vaccine.

9) For those still clamoring about “but but but what about deaths???” Good question. Here is Swedish #COVID19 deaths versus Scandinavian neighbors per capita. Hmmmm... Sweden 🇸🇪 death rate is 5x Denmark and 10x Finland and Norway. So dangerous.
10) But but but what about current #COVID19 daily incidence - is it going up slower in Sweden? Nope nope nope!!!! Much worse than Nordic neighbors (most similar in economic and social systems).
11) The every sharp @spignal points out the well known Swedish mortality reporting delay issue. Deaths are reported retroactively after a delay. Thus their recent death reports are always undercounts. Sweden #COVID19 mortality is currently going up.
12) on Trump advisor Scott Atlas is pushing herd immunity to combat #COVID19 pandemic—I flat out told @mehdirhasan it’s a “sociopathic approach” on the @MehdiHasanShow.
