Thread)

Colours fall into 2 categories

Warm and cool

Warm colours are associated with passion and heightened emotion

Cool colours are associated with calmness and lightness

Let's explore what each colour says about you...

Blue is the most common colour among brands

We're reminded of the sky and ocean

This puts us at ease

Creating a sense of trust and security

Green is connected to nature, money, and health

Because of it's association with nature

Green induces a sense of calmness and gives a brand a more natural feel

Red invokes the strongest emotion

From power & aggression to love & passion

Red elevates heart rate and encourages people to take action

This makes it a great colour for your call to action

Too much red will create a sense of danger, use sparingly

Orange represents creativity and energy

It commands attention and gives an adventurous feel to your brand

Because of its history with nobility, purple is considered luxurious

It’s also a colour of mystery and spirituality

Too much can come across as arrogant so don’t overdo it

Yellow is associated with happiness and positivity but can also be seen as a warning

It's good at grabbing attention and adding a cheerful vibe to your brand

Yellow reflects a lot of light and can fatigue the eye when overused

Pink is associated with femininity, youthfulness, and love

Barbie, Victoria's Secret, and Kylie Cosmetics are a few companies that utilize pink to appeal to their female demographic

Since it's the same colour as dirt and wood

Brown gives off a down to earth vibe

It doesn't invoke too much excitement, making it a secure and comforting colour

Grey is the colour of neutrality

It can give a clean sense of order

Due to its lack of colour, grey is also associated with dullness and depression

Because of its association with cleanliness and simplicity, white is popular among hospitals

It is also commonly thought of as the colour of innocence and purity

Black has a wide variety of associations

Sophistication, death, mystery, power, anger, and sadness are a few

Because of its timeless style, black goes well with majority of brands
