Today's #EuropeBigWet update.
Still raining lots.....
Image 1. A live rainfall map as of now from @Meteoblue
Image 2. A high res satellite image as of this morning @NASA Modis.
This first animation is from this morning and shows the clouds moving in over the UK and Ireland. Not too much rain expected there though. Mainly in Scotland.
The rest of Europe has settled down over night bit it is still very wet.
Here we see the storm over Russia and former Soviet states. It has lost some of its organisation over night but is still a circulation of thunderstorms. At the bottom right a new injection of storms is coming up the right flank through Turkey.
4 48-hour rain forecasts (to midnight Thursday, the main difference between this and yesterday is that the largest rain mass in the east is moving south and expanding west, also, Italy is not nearly as wet as yesterday .
Central Europe joins the #EuropeBigWet tomorrow.
This is an update on the previous wide angle animation as the sun starts to go down in the East. Everything is still moving slowly.
And from the look of things I am about to get enveloped in cloud here in Bretagne, France. We have rain forecast for the morning here.
Here are two 10 day forecasts and one 16 day one (the last one) of accumulated rain. These don't tell us a great deal beyond that it is going to rain everywhere, and in large parts of Europe a lot.
Follow #EuropeBigWet for daily updates.
