#SeditionHunters - newly unsealed court docs for unhashtagged perp Fi Duong, VA extremist. Interestingly reveal that DC police were well aware of Jan 6 threats - they had undercover operatives out that morning chatting with suspicious-looking people. 1/

The friendly DC MPD undercover operative got Duong's name and contact information, apparently then went to the Capitol and chatted with him again there. And then passed his name to the FBI.... 2/

By Jan 13 an FBI undercover agent ("UCE") had infiltrated Duong's extremist friend-group (not quite an organized militia), which mixed "Bible study" with firearms training and making homemade bombs. 3/

Duong is probably typical of the growing ranks of U.S. extremists. What's most interesting here is the use of surveillance, and the confirmation that yes, many people were absolutely aware of the potential for violence on Jan 6 - including DC police. 4/

And on the subject of homegrown extremists, the new pre-trial detention request for Robert Morss aka #BluePatch, sweet-faced high-school teacher and Penn State graduate, reveals militia planning with a helpful to-do list including "Bring assault rifle". 5/

And to see Fi Duong in high resolution, here he is in the essential footage shot by photojournalist Michael Nigro (@Nigrotime) & made available for #SeditionHunters. Spotted by @jocejocejoe. Duong entered the Capitol relatively late, probably ~2:40 PM. 6/
