How qualified are the new and promoted members of the cabinet?

Let's judge some of them by their own words and actions.

Thread ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡

Liz Truss - Foreign Secretary.

Truss, the former Women and Equalities minister & Secretary of International Trade, was a part of "Britannia Unchained" which called British workers lazy.

She also said that the "UK focuses on fashionable race, sexuality and gender issues."

Nadhim Zahawi - Education Secretary.

Zahawi's musical tie went off during a debate about cutting EMA a ยฃ30 weekly allowance for poor students.

Attended a men-only dinner club event which saw female staff groped & harrassed.

Claimed ยฃ5000 expenses to power his stables.

Nadine Dorries - Culture Secretary

The MP who ditched her constitutents to appear on reality show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Shared doctored right-wing propaganda, used ableist and racist slurs online. Also said Black colleague Chuka Umunna looked like Chris Eubank.

Anne Marie Trevelyan - International Trade Secretary.

Trevelyan made news last year when she shared racist memes about China at the start of the pandemic. She's also pro-fracking despite knowing it would damage her local national park.

Stephen Barclay - Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.

The former Brexit Minister, Barclay, succeeds Michael Gove. He appeared on Question Time last year and stumbled over the number of people who had received Coronavirus testing.

All in all, it's another bunch of Tory cabinet ministers who are completely unsuitable for public office.

This country deserves so much better!
