Chip Le Grand's love letter to Melbourne rioters.

A thread ⬇️⬇️⬇️on this insulting article from @Melbchief!
#auspol #ThisIsNotJournalism #MurdochRiots
theage.com.au/national/victo…

It didn't even take @theage 24 hours to go back on this smokescreen.

@Gay_Alcorn extends a false hand in friendship whilst @Melbchief stabs Victoria in the back!

Chip Le Grand gives a platform for a member of one of the industries least affected by COVID to complaining about how tough COVID is.

This is an insult to everyone across Victoria who has been out of work or in and out of work since COVID started.

Has Tim lost his job?

It would seem not. The article later reads "Tim, the builder with the young family, says he would rather lose his job than get the jab."

Many of you reading this will have been more effected by COVID than Tim has, yet Chip has given him a platform anyway.

It's just highly insensitive and insulting to write sympathy articles for construction workers who have had it easy compared to so many.

Where is the sympathy article for health care workers put their lives at risk to keep us safe?

Why can't we hear from people like that?

They are radical thoughts. Providing legitimatization and approval for thoughts that lead to riots is disgusting and dangerous journalism.

Why is this conversation happening metres from armoured Police in Melbourne and not Sydney?

Mainstream media incitement, that's why!

Am I supposed to applaud Tim for leaving before it gets violent?

Is The Age supporting illegal protestors if they leave before it gets violent?

Shame on The Age!

Screw this guy! He's putting my health at risk by protesting, he's putting your health at risk and he is contributing to lockdown being extended!

You're protesting at the Shrine of Remembrance with a group of right-wing opportunists, of course it's going to get violent!

THIS PARAGRAPH IS FULL OF LIES!

1) The protests started before the industry shutdown
2) Mainstream media, including The Age has contributed to inciting these protests and riots with their biased coverage and anti-lockdown agenda

3) Union member construction workers are the minority of protestors
4) Morrison didn't condemn protestors, that is an outrageous exaggeration, he sympathised with them
5) Let's not forget that protests started ages ago, organised by the far-right well before the vaccine mandate

I'd love to see all of the mainstream media do this then and The Liberals such as Tim Smith and of course Scott Morrison.

This is gaslighting. This is @Melbchief and @theage pretending that their anti-Dan, anti-lockdown, anti-restriction articles have not contributed to these protests.

The Age has worked in tandem with The Murdoch media in this regard.

Quickly enforcing public health orders to keep Victorians safe is wrong, according to Chip Le Grand's article.

Strange logic. All of the mainstream media used the term tea rooms also.

To suggest calling them tea rooms (even if crib rooms is the term used by workers) is evidence of the Government not seriously engaging is poor journalism.

This is a subtle undermining of public health orders and advice.

This whole paragraph ignores the high number of cases linked directly to construction.

There is 403 cases linked to construction across 186 sites. That's why these measures have been put in place so quickly. It's the right call.

No riots though.

Could that have anything to do with the positive media coverage they have in NSW when it comes to COVID and restrictions?

Instead of encouraging people to get vaccinated, @Melbchief criticises Daniel Andrews, stating he 'TRIED to offer an encouraging message.'

Why couldn't Chip write 'offered an encouraging message' instead?

This is deliberate undermining and I've had enough of it!

Don't pretend like the Vic Government and the media are on the same side.

Naturally, this article does nothing to correct this misinformation.

Chip Le Grand gives a platform for a rioter to deliver his message, further contributing to the incitement of violent protests.

The Age has been selective in who they have spoken with.

No quotes from CFMEU members who are vaccinated and support the vaccine mandate.

I wonder why that is?

.@Melbchief and @theage giving a platform to not just those opposed to mandatory vaccinations but those are who declared anti-vaxxers.

Dangerous and disgusting.

After giving a platform to this illegal protester and anti-vaxxer, @Melbchief does not explain why people should get vaccinated or explain the importance of herd immunity.

As I said at the start of this thread, this article is a love letter to the protesters. Shame on you Chip!

This is not a gentle, thoughtful man, Chip Le Grand is desperately trying to humanise the lawbreakers who are putting our health at risk!

I was depressed last year too. I didn’t go on violent riots and throw urine over the Shrine of Remembrance!

STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THE VIOLENT, DISGUSTING BEHAVIOURS OF RIOTERS @MELBCHIEF

Chip Le Grand is 100% the type of person who says “boys will be boys” when young men do the wrong thing!

We are living in a pandemic, someone should let Harris know.

Someone should also let Harris know that by protesting, he is helping spread COVID and helping keep these restrictions in place for much longer!

There is no reason to wait for Novavax. By giving a platform for this nonsense, Chip Le Grand is contributing to vaccine hesitancy.

Chip describes the violent riots of the far right as ‘mischief and mayhem'

A disgstuing understatement!

This article has truly been a love letter to the rioters and protesters. It attempts to legitimise and humanise them. It provides them with a platform to egg others into joining them. This article attempts to incite further riots, protests and violence.

This article doesn’t even mention Nazis, not once, despite the fact that their involvement is clear.

The article neglects to mention these protests have been organised by far-right groups. The evidence for this is all over telegram!

The article gives a platform for protestors and rioters to spread their message.

This article undermines public health orders
This article fails to promote vaccines despite giving a platform to anti-vaxxers.

This article neglects to mention the cases numbers linked to construction.

This article paints illegal protesters who left before it got violent in a positive light.

This article is a disgrace.

Chip Le Grand is pure scum. He is a disgusting hack and a horrible human who seeks to damage Vic by undermining health advice and providing a platform for illegal protesters to spread their message. He should be ashamed of this article. He is a disgusting disgrace.

On a happy note, enjoy the rest of your weekend and the AFL Grand Final tonight if you are watching.

Stay safe, get out and enjoy some sunshine and follow the rules :)
