The #BuildBackBetterAct is the biggest investment in climate action in U.S. history, and the biggest investment in social programs since the New Deal.
(Plus, it's fully paid for by raising taxes on the
ultra-wealthy and corporations.)
The #BuildBackBetterAct will fight the #ClimateCrisis.
It puts us on the path to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to 50% of 2005 levels by 2030. This is essential for protecting us all from climate disasters, especially the BIPOC & frontline communities that are most harmed.
The #BuildBackBetterAct will create good jobs.
It creates 150,000 family-sustaining manufacturing jobs to produce wind, solar, & other clean energy goods, & 300,000 jobs through a Civilian Climate Corps to help communities clean up pollution and adapt to climate change.
The #BuildBackBetterAct will Protect our health
Far too many of us, disproportionately BIPOC, & low-income families, drink water contaminated w/ dangerous chemicals. BBB will replace toxic lead pipes for 5 million families, remediate areas contaminated by PFAS chemicals, & more.
The #BuildBackBetterAct will make transit more affordable.
This bill will build new high-speed rail, electrify our school bus fleet, expand and improve transit routes, and add fare-free and reduced-fare service for communities that need it most.
The #BuildBackBetterAct will help expand #cleanenergy.
It will make rooftop solar $7,000 cheaper for the average homeowner, electric cars $12,500 cheaper, save the avg household $500 each year in utility bills, & expand clean energy opportunities through the Dept. of Ag.
The #BuildBackBetterAct will increase access to #publiclands.
It will create urban wilderness to fight the urban heat-island effect through the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership program, & invest in the Every Kid Outdoors to make sure natural spaces are accessible to all.
The #BuildBackBetterAct will invest in educational, social programs, & healthcare.
It will help Americans access universal pre-K, increase opportunities for community college, make daycare more affordable, expand Medicare, & lower prescription drug prices.
