71.02b/ Dr. @Doc_RPS Press Schwartz's talk was excellent and we had a pretty good crowd for a Saturday (night). We all learned quite a lot and I'm proud to have had my children there to listen and absorb. The Q&A was pretty raucous though, but nothing she couldn't handle.
71.03/ My son is into 40K and we've talked extensively about the problematic way the 40K world is constructed & how the rabid pro-fascist fanbase is dangerous. The company's claims of satire is itself a parody of conscience. Bad satire = glorification.
71.04/ Again, three of my teams playing at once. #NYR take the lead and win the game with 1 second on the game clock. That's what it's about. Now #HereWeGo (please?)
71.05/ This point is very true but also depends on the person. I thrive in this environment where I can know broad trends while digging deeper into an individual's feed and threads. Twitter is a library of human minds. But it's *seriously* not for everyone.
71.06/ Quick advice for first time hosts for #Thanksgiving : (1) Purpose of the event is fellowship not food; you're not a restaurant (2) So, plz no comments about how/what guests are eating/drinking or when they leave (3) provide soft drinks (4) Spray air fresheners in the loo
71.07/ This is very cool about pumpkin pie as an abolitionist symbol. I'm still not gonna eat "Salad: The Pie" but I now can support the ideology of the custom.

71.08/ Yom Hodu Sameach, Happy #Thanksgiving everybody! Thank God for the vaccines; we're able to have a full house of guests this year. The bird just went in the oven; the house smells of baked apples & cranberries. Hope everyone can celebrate in their best way & count blessings

71.11/ It's now been a full year since the last publication of R' Leibie Sternberg's Kehilas Prozdor newsletter. I've been trying to find news as to his health, I called the shul and left messages. I do hope he's well; I very much enjoyed the parsha sheet.

71.12/ Very good, thorough, story on the front page of this week's Jewish Link about Dr. @Doc_RPS Press Schwartz's lecture in my community (with a nice picture of my wife as well). I'm glad the paper thought the subject was worthy of such rich detail.

71.13/ #Thanksgiving is the most Jewish non-Jewish holiday with many perks - being able to drive, cook, watch football so you can avoid awkward conversations, etc. Unheralded: with proper planning you can cook for Shabbas and T-giving simultaneously, making today (Fri) relaxed.
71.14/ This is an inspired hire! Yashar koach to YU in recognizing how valuable Dr. Brown will be in leading the Jewish community from the Modern Orthodox flagship institution. Mazal tov to her and to all her future students.
71.15/ My office isn't "messy" - it's a life-size reenactment of 3D Tetris. It's fun, but not for novices.
