PS: ( I hired Leicester groundsmen )
◉ Wide triangles as starting forms to circulate
◉ Half-space runs
The runs I am about to show you (including this) have been performed after having a sequence of passes + switching the point of attack, why? Simply to disorganize PSG's last 2 lines as Pochettino had 3 def mids in the 2nd to track these kinds of runs.
◉ Runs between the CBs
Mahrez enjoyed a lot of 1v1s as he either had dribbles, crosses, or shots where he mainly was the width option to switch(the runs can be spotted on both sides).
Gundogan had those runs between PSG CBs as gaps appeared due to City overloading the far post.
◉ Passes through half-spaces
◉ Overlaps
Especially in the right-wing where City used Walker pace.
◉ Making runs in behind ( led to 1st goal )
When? The player in possession (Rodri) receives having time and space + space between players is not too big.
How? As Rodri turns his head up, Walker makes a diagonal run to stay onside + in the defender blindside.
◉ Half space crosses ( led to 2nd goal)
Usually to the far post options, where City overloads PSG defenders. Mahrez and Cancelo had these types of crosses.
