Dr Monica Gandhi has been infamously anti-precautionary & anti-mitigation & wrong time and again. She now wants to end more mitigations—all while #Omicron deaths highs, & #BA2 rising. So @mehdirhasan checks her record—& asks if she’d stop making forecasts:

2) First record check was @mehdirhasan checking how wrong she was about India 🇮🇳 being at herd immunity in FEB 2021– just before India was hit hard by the new Delta variant that likely caused MILLIONS of deaths in April May and June.

3) she also dismissed those of us who wanted about the dangers of new variants and indirectly called it scaremongering about variants. MILLIONS have since been hospitalized and died from more contagious, deadly, and even “milder” variants.

4) She continuously downplayed COVID and repeatedly claim that we need not worry too much about COVID, wave after wave.

5) last year in 2021 she repeatedly said we were at the “endgame” of COVID. Nope, people continued to get sick, hospitalized and die. And don’t forget the Long COVID yet to come.

6) even as Omicron was rising, she continued to downplay COVID and claimed hospitals won’t be swamped. She was stone cold wrong.

7) her predictions have been disastrously wrong. Yet many cited her predictions to ignore mitigations and continuously downplay COVID rules. Her role at UCSF has give voice to COVID denier and minimizers and her voice has likely endanger millions.

8) in the video, she attempts to claim that her local San Francisco wasn’t affected as much. But if we look at SF area hospitals — they too were at/near record high hospitalizations. She lied / deceived again.

9) In the annals of “godawful” pandemic articles - one “expert” led a guardian reporter to claim “experts” questioning the counting of cases —but almost all supported counting cases —except of course “Monica Gandhi” 🤦🏻‍♂️— public endangerment again! Thx @CT_Bergstrom
