Ahrefs has a VERY complicated product.

Yet, they are able to show immediate value to new users.

And likely push them to sign up.

All in about 10 seconds...thousands of times each day.

How?

With 13 simple tools.

🧵

There’s no hiding the fact that I love when brands use simple tools as an acquisition channel.

I have even written a teardown on how the Shopify Business Name Generator dominates an entire content cluster.

But Ahrefs takes it to another level with their collection of free SEO tools.

I have never seen a SaaS brand succeed with so many tools.

Maybe one or two, but not 10+ free tools!

With just 13 of these SEO tools...

They rank on 30k+ diverse keywords, driving 532k organic sessions!

And drive around $858k in traffic value each month.

Like we saw with Backlinko + Semrush, the SEO niche is mature & competitive.

Most of the keywords that these tools are targeting have an 80+ difficulty.

Right now “keyword generator” has a 97 difficulty!

These tools also drive about 40% of all organic sessions & almost 50% of all traffic value to the Ahrefs domain.

With just two tools, the Backlink & Website Authority Checker...

They drive more traffic & value than the entire blog!

Did I mention all of these tools are free?

Like, they are really free.

No sign-in, no freemium service, no demo, nothing!

With one click, Ahrefs is giving pure value to the user in a few seconds.

They don't even ask for your email to use the tools!

That sounds like a huge missed opportunity right?

Why would Ahrefs give away so much & get nothing in return?

Well, once you start looking at who these tools are built for it starts to make sense.

Like with Grammarly, it's not who you expect.

In fact, some marketers would ignore them completely.

Now if you want to learn exactly who these tools are built for.

And how Ahrefs ranks #1 on 1000s of keywords with all these tools, in such a competitive niche.
