Hi video content creators in #cryptoart and #nfts. In this global movement, adding accessibility is very important & also often easily accomplished, but requires a couple extra steps from us. Here's a quick how-to 🧵 for adding subtitles and translated captions to @YouTube...1/12

First, after clicking "Edit Video," find "Subtitles" in the left-hand column. Click it! 2/12

If you haven't added subtitles before, you might be asked to set the default language first. 3/12

YouTube will probably already have created subtitles in your native language, but you'll need to confirm and publish them. Click "DUPLICATE AND EDIT" to create your first subtitles. 4/12

YouTube leverages machine-learning AI to automatically pull and create the subtitles from your audio track. Read through and make sure none of the words are in error.🤖 Then click the blue "PUBLISH" button. 5/12

Now that you have added your native language as subtitles, you can add additional languages. Click the blue "ADD LANGUAGE" button on the Subtitles page. 6/12

You'll see a long list of languages to select from. At this time, each language must be added manually by the video creator. 7/12

After selecting the language you wish to add, you have several options. The fastest and easiest is clicking "Auto-translate" in the left-hand column. 8/12

The automatic translations will allow you to preview and edit what the AI created. Unless you have help from a friend who speaks that language, you probably will just trust the algorithm and click "PUBLISH." 9/12

And it's that easy. Keep clicking "ADD LANGUAGE" until you're satisfied that your global audience will be able to access your video. In probably less than 30 seconds each, you can add a new language that might open up a world of understanding for another human. 10/12

I hadn't realized this wasn't automatic until @xelda45 brought it to my attention. Like blockchain, the language of art is borderless - it's of the heart. Let's do what we can in #cryptoart and #nfts to make this movement as accessible as possible. 11/12

If there's a language from my list that's missing that would be beneficial to you, please reply. I want to add more. If you're reading my tweets, I want you to be included when I speak. 🙏💗 12/12
