Let us open one of the bloodiest chapters in Indian History buried & whitewashed by the perpetrators!
How many of you know that the #MoplahGenocide of 1921 was preceeded by even bloodier #HinduGenocide by Islamic Tyrant Tipu Sultan where thousands were killed & thousands were forcibly converted to Islam?
The Hindus of the Malabar had only 2 options:
CONVERT or DIE!
The Malabar Manual by William Logan published in 1887 lists the atrocities of Tipu Sultan & his islamic fanatical army.
It lists out the numerous temples destroyed!
It lays out the forced conversions, the orgy of murders & rapes of hindus by an army intoxicated by religion!
Yes! the same Tipu Sultan who is hailed as a freedom fighter & given the same place as Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev by INC whose death anniversary we are remembering today as #ShaheedDiwas!
He was nothing but a terrorist!

The seeds of #MoplahGenocide were sown by Tipu sultan when he started forcible conversions of Brahmins & Nairs into islam at the edge of the sword.
Mass circumcisions were carried out & the ritual ended with putting beef in their mouths!

They were ordered to hunt down the Hindus in Coorg region of Karnataka. The captured hindus had 2 options: CONVERT OR DIE!

There are horrific incidents of #Hindugenocide by the islamic tyrant in Kodagu/Coorg region of Karnataka, which in itself is a huge episode.
They too had the same 2 options Convert or Die!
Till date, people of coorg remember with pain the atrocities meted out on them!
He destroyed about 600 temples in Coorg alone!
He slaughtered >70,000 Kodavas & captured >90,000 of them to be converted.
Pregnant women/infants/children-did not matter!

Tipu killed 1000s of Mandyam Iyengars while they were indulged in Deepavali celebrations in Melkote!
Men were killed, women raped & the temple's pond was filled with the blood of hindus!
Deepavali is not celebrated to this day!
Such was his religious zeal fuelled by Islam!

Mapillas were called as Moplahs by the british & the name stuck.
These were the descendants of the muslim traders & the subsequent generations of converts by Tipu Sultan in Kerala.
They looked up to Tipu Sultan's example of dealing with kafirs then & look up to him today too!
'Mapilla' means Son-in-law in malayalam. This name was given to the muslims of malabar region as some of them married local hindu women.
After Tipu was driven out of Malabar, inspired by his treatment of kafirs, they started creating "DISTURBANCES" in Malabar!

These "DISTURBANCES" are nothing but killings of Hindus like they happen today! This is how the Mapillas started out ultimately leading to the #moplahgenocide of hindus!
These "DISTURBANCES" almost all the time led to the death of hindus or burning of temples in the malabar.
The Moplahs staying faithful to their tyrant father Tipu, continued creating communal disturbances!
The years leading up to the #moplahgenocide were full of such incidents!
