Dear @AirCanada CMO Dr Jim Chung and VP of Safety Samuel Elfassy

Thank you for the message “your safety and the safety of our employees is our top priority” inside every CleanCare+ package on #AirCanada flights. 🧵/10

I fly a lot with @AirCanada as it has more international destinations than any Canadian airline.

Prior to lockdowns that was about 1 week/month. Have the luggage tag to prove it.

I want to get to a point where we feel safe not wearing a mask on a plane. 2/10

However I would like to ask you some questions about safety on board Air Canada flights…

These questions are about 2 domestic flights within Canada AC157 and AC146

#COVID19AB #CovidIsNotOver 3/10

Why does the HVAC system get turned off when passengers board the plane?

What can be done to ensure that CO2 readings do not reach 4996 ppm when boarding the plane?

Every CleanCare+ package provides 2 hand sanitizing gels, 2 antiseptic wipes, and a Guard branded non-surgical mask.

How can the CleanCare+ package align with the science that #COVIDisAirborne?

@AirCanada #COVID19AB 5/10

Can the Guard branded masks use a surgical band so they do not hold the sides of the mask open?

Crossing the band around my ears does not close the gaps because the band itself is lose compared to a surgical band.

My concern is that the card signed by the CMO of #AirCanada and the VP of Safety in every Clean Care+ package provides a false sense of safety.

Passengers were using the masks with large gaps on the side, CO2 when boarding is extremely high, and ventilation systems are often not connected until the flight is in the air.

8/10

Would it help Air Canada staff to wear N95 masks to protect them against airborne diseases?

@AirCanada #WearARespirator #COVIDisAirborne 9/10

My hope with this is that we will get towards mask free safety on flights in the near future.

In flight is still 1700ppm on average, can we get closer to 600ppm so everyone is safe without masks?
