Civil activist #ZHUMABAYEV Serik is being persecuted by the Kazakhstani authorities for his participation in the January protests, namely Serik went on a rally in the city of #Aktobe on 7 January 2022.

He was arbitrarily detained in front of the Akimat (local executive body), using brute force and was even handcuffed. He was then brutally beaten in the Ile assembly hall with batons.This beating went on for a long time, he was beaten on the head and tortured with a stun gun.

Next, Serik lost consciousness. 

When he regained consciousness, he asked for water, but instead of water the police officers beat him a couple more times.

After this, Serik was illegally convicted under two articles and given 15 and 30 days of administrative detention under each article. He and 20 others were placed in an eight-bed cell in the temporary detention facility.
