🔥☄️ WOW, these indirect connections between the Bank of Canda & $QNT ran FAR deeper than I had thought

Lotta history in here thats been dusted away, enjoy this 🧵as we deep dive into just how far back these guys go

Its common knowledge in the $QNT community by now that both Gilbert & Martin were key components to Vocalink

🏆 Gilbert had won 2017 CISO of the year during his time there

⚙️ Martin had spent 13+ years there climbing all the way up to VP 👏👏

Vocalink is a payments service company owned by a consortium of large banks with Mastercard owning a 92% stake 🤯

They are compatible w #ISO20022 while also running in parallel w BACs & CHAPS to provide interbank real time transfers

Needless to say, Mastercard knows what their doing

The Bank of Canada had also seen the innovative approach Vocalink was building in the UK to allow for faster payments systems

It was a no brainer for them to partner up to build upon their new RTGS system

🔗 So thats one indirect connection laid out

We also know $QNT is heavily in works w #SIA to where we've seen things like interoperability tested across SIAChain, Corda (Close SIA Partner) and projects like Spunta

$QNT directly has an interoperability solution for Corda devs

🤫 Something thats lesser known is that BoC had also partnered w SIA

The aim is for SIA to be the application provider for their new high value payment system Lynx

😱 In their partnership papers theres multiple mentions of an ISO20022 system rolling out & IBM

Now, on a side note

IBM doesn't directly play into this, but these points should definitely be highlighted regarding IBM

- Created mCBDC w HSBC using their Weaver interoperability solution

- Weaver has some interesting points that sound like $QNT

- Working on #ODAP

🪙 Canada is also building a pilot #CBDC project, Jasper

🏦 Between multi public & private sector entities in the finance industry

👁 The primary blockchain we see is thru R3 Corda

Multiple players are also in the BRI w $LCX
A $QNT partner for CBDC interoperability👀

Perhaps the most interesting points in Project Jasper

💭 They mention a need for standardized interoperability protocols, sounds like #ODAP

🌎 They also look to #ISO as a potential solution for this standardized approach, sounds like TC307

🥉 R3 Interoperability?

While we're on the topic of standards specifically TC307

🦘We know its the ISO Standard that Gilbert created during his time in NSW

🧬He built this to interoperate healthcare data & ISO reached out to him

🏒Canada is a participating member of TC307 w 42 other countries

Just the other day

$QNT CEO Gilbert Verdian was on stage at @ftlive w Visa, MIT & BoC in front of some of the biggest names in trade finance to talk #CBDCs

What if I told you everything in the background connected together 🙈

For those unaware,

Gilberts got potentially the strongest background in all of crypto

So seeing him up there with some of the biggest names in the FinTech industry should come with little surprise

We already know some of these connections between BoC & $QNT potentially from both their works with SIA & Vocalink

MIT is obviously in close works w #QNT for #ODAP

Visa's UPC Whitepaper has 2 mentions of Hargreaves & Hardjano's work for gateways and ODAP

To add onto the connection w Timothy (BoC),

🙊 When $QNT listed on Gemini, they published a lil article saying the IMF works w Quant for CBDCs

Now that wouldn't be farfetched given the teams background n other partners

👻 Look who previously worked @ the IMF for ~20 years

So while no clear partnerships anywhere

🔗We know the BoC is utilizing SIA & Vocalink for their Lynx payment system

🔗Along with the BoC also working with MIT for #CBDC research

As many of us in the $QNT community knows, a large part of this is piecing the puzzle ourselves🧩
