How I$lam Engages in Economic Jihad Through Halal Industry ?
It is important to remember that while just 15% of the population of the country are Muslims, the proportion of halal meat marketed in India is substantially greater and growing annually.

Since, a minority section of the population deeply cares about the kind of meat it prefers and the rest 85 per cent couldn’t care less about the method of meat preparation,

, it is inevitable that the minority population will end up thrusting its religious food choice on the whole country as it is convenient for sellers to just provide #halal meat.

However, this trend is worrisome since it goes beyond basic economics.
Animals slain in the name of anyone other than ALLAH are haram "beyond a shadow of a doubt,"claims Halal Certification Services India Pvt Ltd (HCS), a govt-run organisation that provides halal certification.

Acc to the website of the Halal Trust, a halal slaughterman must "be a Muslim,be authorised & under the supervision of a certified Islamic organisation," and "slaughter the animal according to Islamic rite including reciting Bismillah All@hu-Akbar before slaughtering each animal.

Consider this in light of the growing market share of halal meat. On the basis of religious identification, we are effectively advancing toward a situation where one community will have a complete monopoly over the entire meat industry, which is worth billions of dollars.

Whether this is even legal must be questioned. Clearly, it appears to be against the SC/ST statute, which forbids economic boycott. Now, the rapidly expanding halal-compliant slaughter sector can argue that it positively discriminates against Muslims & that there isn't a boycott

The fact remains that one religion aspires to monopolise an entire sector of the economy. What else is it than economic jihad, a conflict in the financial sphere motivated by Islamic principles to subjugate the unbelievers?

The term "jihad" should not be interpreted negatively in this context. It's a clever move, and every group aspires to get stronger by all means possible. We feel that this is unhealthy for the Indian nation, nevertheless.

It is a global problem. The Daily Mail reports that the FSA (Food Standards Agency) claims that 51% of lamb, 31% of poultry, and 7% of beef that are slaughtered in Britain each week out of a total of 16 million animals are now "religiously slain." More than the Muslim community

According to a report by Adroit Industry Research, the global halal market was worth $4.54 trillion in 2017 (much more than the GDPs of Germany, India, and the UK at the time), and it is predicted to grow to $9.71 trillion by 2025.

More than 10% of the world's population is Muslim, which is represented by India's 15% Muslim population. Add, Muslim nations that are a part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation import 50% of India's food exports. India will undoubtedly be a sizable market for halal goods.

While one is concerned about the creation of the halal meat industry, which effectively means “of the Muslims, by the Muslims, for everyone”, it is important to note that halal meat is only one part of this debate. Even #vegetarian food can be halal certified.

certification is also available for non-alcoholic beverages, raw materials used in food processing, pharmaceutical and health care products, traditional herbal, cosmetics and personal care, cleaning, daily consumable & leather-made goods (such as shoes, furniture, and handbags)

The main benefactors of the certification inds are I$lamic organisations. Jamiat Ulima-i-Hind, for ex costs Rs 20,000 for the registration of an Indian firm and Rs 500 for each product (GST ext). As the registration is only good for a year, there is also a Rs 15,000 renewal cost.

Therefore, while the halal meat economic jihad, which is based on prejudice and discrimination against non-Muslims, must be fought tenaciously, there is much to be learned from how Islam is using the dedication of its adherents to build an environment that will serve its cause .
