It’s a new Monday, so time for a new entry into the #BatmanvSuperman references the DC lore series. Today, it’s time for the scene Kidnapping in the 🧵 below! #RestoreTheSnyderVerse #BvSMondayMood

It’s a short one today with two references to the last issue of Superman: Birthright (#12). First, the dialogue between Lex and Lois resembles that of the comic. Her trying to show she will expose him, and him shrugging it off.

Even a couple of lines of Lex minimizing disrespectfully Lois are in both movie and comic.

Interestingly, both the movie and the comic show (through a news article) that in the end Lex Luthor is facing the law.

We also get Lex throwing Lois out of building and Superman catching her. This is an incredible sequence in the movie that closely mimics the comic sequence. I’ll display the images in 4 tweets. So, first the images when Lex is about to throw Lois.

Then, we get her free falling from a very tall building.

After that, there is Superman catching her.

And finally, both together at last to close out this moment!

To close the 🧵, I wanted to highlight there are many connections to Superman: Birthright in both #ManofSteel and in #BatmanvSuperman. I love how these stories homage this very influential Superman storyline but also gives us a new take on DC characters!

And that’s a wrap for today’s small thread. Remember if you like this thread or any previous ones, consider donating to the @afspnational Autumn Snyder Fund. Every small amount counts to raise awareness for this cause! supporting.afsp.org/index.cfm?fuse…

Adding one more thanks to @SnyderVerseDC. Lois falling and being caught by Superman is reminiscent of the helicopter scene in Superman: The Movie.

While the chopper in this scene is black (and from Lexcorp) unlike the one in Superman: The Movie, the one we see later in #BvS is both red and from the Daily Planet providing us with another homage to the classic Superman movie.

Just realized that @zack_know found out a while ago another reference for this scene. Lex words resemble part of the dialogue in The Dark Knight Returns comic that is homaged heavily in #BatmanvSuperman
