just an idea, I don't write a lot so I hope I do justice to the prompt. if not let's call my thread self-indulgent 😂

.

Eijirou's heart clenched in anger as Katsuki gently held the mortal while he was giving his last breath.

The mortal had died so many times already, yet Katsuki never let go. He didn't understand.

Katsuki never knew when or where he would meet Izuku again. He just waited with a patience Eijirou had never seen in the God.

It's been decades. He had seen Izuku die so many times in Katsuki's arms.

The anger in him never left. It was unfair how Katsuki had accepted his fate when he couldn't even accept him.

It didn't make sense how he would never grow bored of waiting for a man that would die once back in his arms.

He didn't understand.

And the anger never left.

Eijirou looked at the mortal and didn't understand what Katsuki could see in him. He was plain-looking and boring.

He quietly watched the mortal unpack his belongings and place them on the shelves.

He owned a lot of mythology books and Eijirou found it to be ironic.

"Do you want tea?" the mortal showed him a little green box. "My mom gave it to me."

He was smiling, as if Eijirou would become his friend because he gave him some hot water to drink.

He could feel the headache already. He didn't want to be friends. He wanted to crush him.

He nodded and the mortal smiled more.

Eijirou internally rolled his eyes, the mortal was annoying.

Eijirou had been living with the mortal for a while now. His name was Izuku Midoriya. He was taking an Ancient History major — said something about those old tales he felt drawn to. Eijirou had rolled his eyes.

"Kirishima!" he heard. "Do you want to go to our class together?"

He didn't want to. "Sure," he grumbled.

.

"There's something I'd like to tell you."

Eijirou turned to Izuku. There were walking down the main alley leading to the main building of the university.

"Then talk," he spoke.

Izuku exhaled deeply before looking at him.

"I like you!"

Eijirou immediately froze. "What did you say?"

Izuku was looking at his hands. "I know you hate me but...," he sighed. "I like you."

Eijirou could only stare at the mortal. He liked him? Wasn't he suppose to love Bakugo Katsuki?

He couldn't help but laugh.

"What made you think I hated you?" he asked.

"Maybe the fact that you're laughing right now," Izuku glared. "Or that you always roll your eyes when I talk to you or when you see me. Sometimes I feel like even breathing the same air as me disgusts you."

"Then why do you like

me?" he resisted the urge to roll his eyes again.

"Well," Izuku said nervously, "You—"

"I don't understand," Eijirou didn't let him talk. He grabbed his chin and make him look up. "You're plain," he said, examining his face. "And in the time we've spent together,

all I could think about you was how annoying you were."

He let go of Izuku, looking away.

"How could anyone love you?" he spoke to himself.

/How could *he* love you?/

"Perhaps it's because of your eyes," he mumbled.

At this point, Izuku was on the verge of tears, but he still found the force to ask, "my eyes?"

"Yeah," Eijirou nonchalantly responded. "They're pretty."

The god didn't see the slap coming, but he did feel it.

He looked down to the mortal who was crying. /He's really got pretty eyes,/ was his only thought.

"You're an asshole!" Izuku screamed before running away.

The god smirked. It was getting interesting.
