#UshiOi drunk confessions

Wakatoshi watched him from afar, fascinated by his loud laugh and confident self.

And Oikawa, oblivious as usual, didn't even spare him a glance.

“Ushijima-san, are you okay?” he heard a familiar voice next to him.

Wakatoshi turned to Kageyama. How? How could he be okay when Oikawa Tooru was in the same party but wouldn't even deign to look at him?

Let alone the same party. The same country. When was the last time they had met? One? Two?

Wakatoshi wasn't asking for much. Just a simple hello and a small conversation. Wakatoshi wanted to know if Oikawa was doing okay.

“Kageyama...” his voice came out more slurred than he meant to. “Are you friends with Oikawa?”

Kageyama made a face. “No?

I don't know; I don't think so.”

Then it wouldn't do. Wakatoshi shook his head, disappointed. “Hinata is his friend, right? Call him. Call him right now.”

“You don't seem alright, Ushijima-san.”

“Have you ever been afraid, Kageyama? Can I call you Kageyama?”

“That's what you usually call me, Ushijima-san. I'll be right back.”

Kageyama gave him a weird look before running away to the crowd. It was okay. He couldn't even help him with Oikawa anyway.

Oikawa. He had missed Oikawa so much. When was the last time they had a match?

Was it in highschool? Wakatoshi had underestimated Oikawa back then, well, not Oikawa but his team. And now? After an extended stay in Argentina, Oikawa was showing him his full potential. It was something amazing to witness.

Highschool. He had been a fool at the time. Awkward,

and stupid. Ignorant of the ways to properly express his feelings.

But Wakatoshi knew better now. And he wanted to make things clear with Oikawa. Needed to talk to him.

Wakatoshi turned to look for Oikawa, who had been playing darts with Kuroo and Bokuto, but he wasn't there.

He stood up quickly, only to result in a bad idea. The floor was trembling, and the horizon was fuzzy.

“Watch out, buddy. We don't want any injury at the party, okay?” Iwaizumi was by his side, helping him to stay still.

Iwaizumi was friends with Oikawa!

“Have you ever been afraid, Iwachan?”

Wakatoshi didn't notice the laugh at the nickname. “Yes. Yes, I've been afraid, Ushiwaka. Why do you ask that?”

“I want to ask Oikawa out. But I don't want him to reject me.”

“Why would he do that?”

“He doesn't like me very much.”

“Indeed, he doesn't,” Iwaizumi agreed. “I don't think I can help you with that. You'll have to be sincere with him. Oi! Shittykawa! Your presence is required!”

Wakatoshi panicked. No. No, he wasn't ready. He didn't have the words, he was scared.

“There you are!”

“Shittykawa, Ushijima's been thinking about you. He wants to have a serious chat with you.”

“Is that so, Waka-chan?”

“Oikawa...”

“Were you bothering Tobio-chan? He told me you were acting weird.”

“Oikawa...”

Oikawa was even prettier up close. His hair was in perfect condition, his cheeks were pink from the beer he had been drinking, and his lips looked soft and inciting. Wakatoshi wanted to kiss him so badly.

“I’ll leave you guys now. Good luck,” said Iwaizumi as he patted his back.

“Oikawa...”

“Wakatoshi.”

“Oikawa, I been thinking...”

“You've been drinking,” Oikawa corrected. But Wakatoshi didn't hear.

“I've tried to put my- my feelings in order. And I want to ask you two things,” he emphasized lifting three fingers. Just to be sure.

It's always better to have too much than too little.

“Shoot away,” Oikawa replied with a giggle.

“Forgive me for being so rude in high school.

Oikawa remembered many times when /he/ had called Wakatoshi an asshole. Drawing on his pictures on volleyball magazines,

and giving him the middle finger at every opportunity. Yet, he replied, “You're forgiven, Waka-chan.”

Wakatoshi nodded. “Now that we're good, I want you to have a date with me.”

Oikawa stared at him for a solid minute. Wakatoshi was not afraid to show his emotions,

But he rather not cry in front of Oikawa at the moment. “Sorry, Waka-chan, but I can't do it. I’m seeing someone, you know.”

Oh... Wakatoshi wasn't expecting that. That hadn't been a no. It had been like ‘I’d love to, but another time maybe’. Or so it sounded to Wakatoshi.

“Are you and that person serious?”

“Kind of, yeah. We just got engaged.”

“Oh.”

Wakatoshi could not compete against that. Unless... Getting on his knee, Wakatoshi held Oikawa's left hand.

“You should marry me instead. We can get married right now.”

“This is Shiratorizawa bullshit all over,” Oikawa complained. To Wakatoshi, he sounded pretty angry, but he wasn't.

Wakatoshi shook his head no. “This is different, this is important. I love you, Tooru, I always have.”

Oikawa had been giggling all the time, amused by the situation. They had gotten engaged days ago! It has been cute, romantic and so perfect. Yet, he felt like crying at Wakatoshi's drunken words. He could see the love and devotion in his eyes.

“Wakatoshi, stand up. Come on, we're going home.”

“No. No, until you say you're going to marry me.”

“Don't be difficult, up, up.”

“No,” Wakatoshi’s hold on Oikawa’s hand got tighter. “I want to be the rest of my life with you.”

“Yes!” Oikawa replied to shut him up.

No way he was going to cry in a bar. Much less with all his friends and colleagues around. He was not 21 anymore. “Yes, I'll marry you. Let's go home now.”

Wakatoshi felt his chest could explode with happiness. He stood up, wobbly.

“He said yes!”

“AAAYYYEEE” the bar cheered.

“Two piña coladas. Two. Dos! And you turn into a cheesy mess.”

“I love you, Tooru,” Wakatoshi said as he held his fiancee in a hug.

“I love you too, Wakatoshi.” Oikawa hugged him back. “Hm? Wakatoshi? Are you seriously asleep right now?!”

Oikawa was warm and smelled like home.

Wakatoshi couldn't help but get comfy, hiding his face between Oikawa's neck and shoulder.

Oikawa loved him back.

He never thought he'd get to be so lucky.

And thinking how bright his future looked, Wakatoshi went to sleep.

“Ushiwaka, you're crushing me!”
