My biggest Air and Light Panel, or AL Panel, in the style of CR Box natch. A mere 1.9” thick! 9 white RGB fans taped to a filtrete 14x14x1 merv 13. Fans are rated 495cfm on max, CADR unknown. No floorspace nec; hang it on the wall, tilted enough for good airflow. #ALPanel #CRBox
Now I’m sucking through the filter, but these fans we part of my previous CR Box that was pushing through the filters. Took a long time to clean the fans, can’t recommend pushing! Get the air cleaned before hitting the fans, always, even if it looks worse
In horizontal position it has a pretty sci-fi vibe. Reactor core / space ship vibez.
Power is basically this, but using the Asiahorse controller instead of Cool Moon. You will need to make adapter connections, basic wiring
uses 20 watts when fans and LEDs are turned up. 48db at 1m on high. Just based on siting in front of it I think it’s prob 1/3-1/2 the CADR of a lasko crb on low. But it’s 14”x14”x1.9” and uses 1/3 the energy, expect lower performance. Still it’s pushing lots of clean air
It’s close to the window and the setting sun is lighting up the filter behind the fans…sublime IAQ 😂
I should say this build is an advanced model. If you dig the idea but have little or no electronics experience, start with this one: it’s based on a 3 fan Asiahorse matrix that has one wire for all the fans instead of 9. It’s much simpler and like 65-75% as cool
Or this for the easiest. Only one fan limits the complexity of the LED display a lot; it’s never as cool, so the 3 fan matrix is better if that’s the appeal
Back side is pretty nice too. Since it looks good both ways this could be a restaurant divider etc
Gotta tag @Asiahorse_PC for having engineers that design the best RGB Fans controllers on earth! Niche concept I know, but I’ve tried them all and asiahorse is playing 3D chess compared to the others. Thanks Asiahorse!
Here it is, BTS, the brain that makes the beautiful patterns. Controls each fan separately. Most controllers just do the same pattern on every fan, some can do 5 fans, but this one can individually address each fan in the AL Panel, up to 10. Comes with the FS-9002 fans only
