UK 🇬🇧 is entering its 4th wave of #COVID19 in one year. Led by Conservative leaders who don’t give a damn about even hospital 🏥 admissions, vaccinating kids, school safety, all while NHS staff burnout & quit … I worry how bad this fall and winter will be. #CovidIsNotOver
Thank god at least UK 🇬🇧 saved its economy by ignoring COVID…. Oh wait…
3) Hospitalizations for #COVID surging across Western Europe, not just in UK. Autumn has barely begun. How bad will it get by winter? Unclear trajectory because we have over a dozen worrisome variants now, not a single variant wave anymore. Worried.
4) It seems hospitals in UK are buckling under the weight of record high waiting list and ER waiting times and ambulance response. I’m convinced the goal of UK conservative leadership is to make the NHS crumble so that it can blame NHS for failure and then force privatization.
5) Even scarier is that UK is actively trying to depress childhood vaccinations for #COVID19 —there’s safe & effective vaccines for kids yet it’s not mentioned at all, while kids vaccines for flu are. It’s incredibly telling. And hence why UK kids are suffering high 2022 numbers
6) All of the UK 🇬🇧 except NI is seeing surge. Not good.
7) why the UK 🇬🇧 surge? Besides no mitigation — it’s Variants bro. Variants. #Chiron (#BA2752) and #Cereberus (#BQ11) and #BN1 which doesn’t even have an informal nickname yet.
