Movie/TV Series thoughts mostly in the form of very long threads. DC Comics fan. After #ZackSnyderJusticeLeague, here to #RestoretheSnyderVerse

It’s a new Monday, so time for a new entry into the #BatmanvSuperman references the DC lore series. Today, it’s time for the mythical Is She With You/Trinity versus Doomsday scene in the thread below! #RestoreTheSnyderVerse #BvSMondayMood

Several classical homages here to comics. Let’s start from one that was part of last week’s thread with Superman lying in space at the beginning of the scene and how it looks like Injustice: Gods Among Us #33.

Then we get Batman saved by Wonder Woman as it is common in the Snyderverse. She has a very classical pose from the comics. And there might be several references in here. I really like how it looks like from Trinity #6 (which actually took place after #BvS).

After that, Superman comes back pushes Doomsday into a tank like structure that explodes. In a very similar way, Doomsday after being pushed by Superman hits a Metropolis Powerlight structure that explodes in Superman: The Man of Steel #19 (from TDoS storyline).

And next is the classical trinity image which again might reference a gazillion comics. A while back I did an edit comparing it to the DCAU and a cover by Jim Lee.

There is also another edit that I found around from this battle that I really like. Unfortunately I don’t know the original author (it has a watermark but cannot find it in twitter). So, if somebody knows the original author, tag them in the comments!

Then we get to Wonder Woman splitting a car in half. And in a #ZackSnyderisTheBluePrint moment we have The Death of Superman animated movie (2018) replicating this scene!

Next in the scene is Superman’s eye beams facing Doomsday. Partly they resemble a classic panel from Superman #75 (TDoS storyline), but they also look like a panel from Superman Earth One Vol #1.

Doomsday has his own eye beams resembling the Doomsday in All Star Superman #4.

And towards the end of the scene we get one of the most famous and recognizable homages in #BatmanvSuperman to The Dark Knight Returns #1 cover. And in a very classic Zack Snyder fashion, he homages the most Batman moment…

…where in the comic it shows the biggest triumphant return to combat crime for Batman in all its glory. And in #BvS immediately after this homage, we see Batman scrambling and fumbling (very unlike him) against Doomsday.

But this also has meaning for the story. As Batman is quite out of his depth here, facing alien monsters he never faced before. Something he’s going to prepare for in #ZackSnydersJusticeLeague in quite the Batman fashion!

So that’s it for today’s thread. Remember if you like this thread or any previous ones, consider donating to the @afspnational Autumn Snyder Fund. Every small amount counts to raise awareness for this cause! supporting.afsp.org/index.cfm?fuse…

A couple of bonus tracks to this thread courtesy of @NaveenShankarSP. First, this one is from Batman/Superman #6 (2019)

He shared another amazing Trinity shot this one from DC: The New Frontier that is referenced quite a bit in #BatmanvSuperman so really worth adding it!

And last one from Wonder Woman fighting Doomsday in Superman: The Doomsday Wars #1 just like in #BvS
