Simplified steps on how to register for OpenChat and qualify for airdrop.

I missed the #SNS1 airdrop which is currently trading at a very good price.

This challenged me to try and explore the ecosystem.

The #ICP blockchain consist of some apps and protocols that is worth checking out

The likes of

Distrikt @DistriktApp
Dscvr @DSCVR1
Openchat @OpenChat

To access all the above app, we will need the Internet Identity from @dfinity

For this thread we will check how to register for the Internet identity and the openchat registration.

Before then lets check how sure the openchat #airdrop is.

I confirmed from their roadmap and also from their token integration from the app settings. Check frames below

Lets get started. I used chrome on android for this guide, but it almost the same on other devices too.

Go to identity.ic0.app

You will greeted with something like this(frame 1)

Select create anchor

Input device name, can be any name (frame 2)

After the page loads, click get started on the page that comes up(frame 1)

If you receive this error (frame 2) just turn on your bluetooth and location

Select the option 3 from the page that comes up next (frame 1) then select the use screen lock (frame 2)

Next confirm your screen lock password or pattern or face ID

Solve the security challenge that comes up next then select use screen lock and confirm your security again

After the page loads, you will be greeted with this page (frame 1)

Write down the number in the circled area and keep it very safe, you will be needing it regularly

Next, click continue and choose your recovery mechanism, select seed phrase(frame 1)

Copy the seed phrase by clicking copy to clipboard and keep it very safe then click continue (frame 2)

And thats it, we are done with the registration.

Now lets register for Open chat

Once its loaded click launch app(frame 1)

Next, click the arrow and confirm your pattern or pin (frame2)

Next, choose your preferred username and click create user(frame 1)

Solve the captcha

And that’s it, you should be greeted with your new open chat account 🙂

Now lets check out some things you should do

Click the option menu (frame1)

Click profile settings

Change your profile picture and update your Bio.

Then start interacting as much as you can🙂
