🚗 Today I’m taking some friends on a tour of Samut Prakan Province. Our planned three stops will be:

[2] As you take the Skytrain into Samut Prakan Province, you can’t help but notice the giant three-headed elephant. This is the Erawan Museum contained within the world’s largest three-headed elephant. The height is about 43 metres or 15 storeys.

[3] Our second stop was going to be the Samut Prakan Observation Tower but unfortunately it’s closed on Mondays. So we just walked around the gardens.

[4] Our lunch stop was the nearby @OKKitchenThai. The owners allowed us into the kitchen to watch the food being cooked. Our favourite was the spicy salad with fried egg and Tom Yum soup.

[5] My favourite tourist attraction in Samut Prakan is Ancient City. It’s not cheap, but if you don’t have time to see all of Thailand, you can see much of it here in this large open air museum. The best way to get around is by bicycle.

[6] Suk Ta Pier in Bang Pu district of Samut Prakan is very popular during the cooler months between November and March when birds migrate here from Siberia. It’s also a birdspotters paradise. Only ten minutes from BTS Kheha station.

[7] We finished our day at Afternoon Bangpu coffee shop along the coast. We were planning on also eating nearby but we were all pretty tired by this time.
I hope you enjoyed this day trip. It’s easy to do yourself using the Skytrain and a taxi.
