Hey #OSINT, apart from OSINT did you know that there are many other types of intelligence gathering. Here's a list of intelligence gathering disciplines (including OSINT).

1. Human intelligence (HUMINT)
NATO defines it as "a category of intelligence derived from information collected and provided by human sources." It's mostly done by people rather than any technical means, and is commonly provided by covert agents and spies.
2. Geospatial intelligence (GEOINT)
is exploitation and analysis of imagery, signals, or signatures with geospatial info. Data can be collected by electro-optical, SAR, sensor programs (active & passive), non-technical means (acquired by personnel in the field).
3. Measurement and signature intelligence (MASINT)
is a technical branch, which serves to detect, track, identify/describe distinctive characteristics (signatures) of fixed/dynamic target sources. This includes radar, acoustic, nuclear, and chemical and biological intelligence.
4. Open-source intelligence (OSINT)
is the collection and analysis of data gathered from open sources (covert and publicly available sources) to produce actionable intelligence.
5. Signals intelligence (SIGINT)
is intelligence-gathering by interception of signals, whether communications between people (communications intelligenceāCOMINT) or from electronic signals not directly used in communication (electronic intelligenceāabbreviated to ELINT).
6. Technical intelligence (TECHINT)
is intelligence about weapons and equipment used by armed forces of foreign nations. Scientific and technical intelligence, addresses information collected or analyzed about broad range of foreign science, technology, and weapon systems.
7. Cyber or digital network intelligence (CYBINT or DNINT)
Cyber or digital network intelligence (CYBINT or DNINT) are gathered from cyberspace. Unlike other intelligence-gathering disciplines, CYBINT/DNINT is not formally defined in any service-specific or joint doctrine.
8. Financial intelligence (FININT)
is the gathering of info about financial affairs of entities of interest, to understand their nature and capabilities, and predict their intentions, identify transactions that may involve tax evasion, money laundering or other criminal activity.
