T-34 #military #history – The apex of Soviet Christie suspension #tanks is the 33 mph T-34/85 with the L/55 D-5T 85mm main gun. Note: the larger vehicles (T-34/76, T-34/85, British A-27 and A-34) had five wheels a side).
#military #history – The most-famous Christie suspension vehicle is the Soviet T-34/76. It lacked the hybrid solid rubber tire road wheel/track configuration but just superb wide traction tracks helping it sprint over terrain its opponents couldn’t handle.
3/ #TankTuesday I'll post four T-34 interior shots in a moment as a reply to this later model T-34/85 with the larger gun, larger turret, and five-man crew instead of the original T-34/76’s four-man crew.
5/ #TankTuesday #military #history - Here is the Soviet T-34/85 in four interior shots. It's more spacious than I'd expect. Then again, the motor is out. Other stuff might be too. Cleaning supplies not included. :)
6/ #TanksToUkraine T-34 four-up. The T-34 is, arguably, #WW2’s all-around best tank. The quality was rough, the optics not great, but its sloped armor was revolutionary. It was fast and agile. Here’s the T-34/76 in a way we don’t normally see her: #cutaway!
T-34 (2019) is the 2nd biggest Russian movie of all time. I really enjoyed it. #WW2 #tanks #CGI #history. It cost just $32 million to make! A Hollywood art film set in a coffee house with no CGI would cost $32 million. Here is the official trailer: .
