Invest in local journalism.

The @nytimes has a proven track record of enabling corporate interests and whitewashing Republican incompetence in governing. #EastPalestine

A1 today criticism of EPA (Biden Admin) from a local “diner equivalent” = misinformation.
🧵

It’s as if NYT has an ax to grind with the EPA/Biden admin that it suppresses how the Republican Governor has handled the situation.

Did these journalists know the Gov refused Biden’s offer immediately after the accident?

Those of us NOT depending on the NYT do.

Context. Context. Context. Did the NYT reporters of which 5 contributed to this piece ASK what the central pizza owner thinks of Republican deregulation policies that LED to this type of accident?

Stenography that fits a narrative that NYT Editors want.

@Will_Bunch @froomkin

Wait ….the Republican governor has not fully activated all his powers - but Pete Buttigieg is in the crosshairs of residents?

But wait stenography w/o context in next paragraph.
“Gov office said…”
Those of us on Twitter have heard the Rail company is giving minuscule Amy’s to citizens - what are the sums that the Rail Company is paying? Is there a reason they are doing that? Altruism? Exceptions etc?

Now imagine being the $2billion/year news org and yet seemingly unaware that Republicans are savaging the Biden Admin/EPA/DOT for their response.
How might Right Wing disinformation impact your coverage? Well it really f’in should! Otherwise you are just highbrow @DailyCaller

Gotta ask @nycscribe why not ask any of the residents if they think getting rid of the Dept of Transportation, Defunding it as part of GOP #DebtCeiling hostage-taking or further deregulation or pro-rail company policies are a good idea?

Or we gonna go with “human interest”?

Public service announcement. Instead of subsidizing the @nytimes agenda - think and act locally.

ADDENDUM. @nytimes editors WERE aware of Right Wing “outrage” disinformation. It’s a problem that NYT journos don’t read the NYT or don’t care about information warfare and how their coverage can be complicit in propagating RW disinfo / narratives. 2/16👇
