It's been 21 years since the brutal Gujarat massacres. Armed Hindutva mobs rampaged through Muslim neighbourhoods killing at least 3,000 Muslims and raping thousands of Muslim women and girls.

It is estimated that at least 250 Muslim girls and women were gang raped and then burned to death by Hindutva mobs.

Muslim Children were force fed petrol and then set on fire, pregnant women were gutted and then had their unborn child's body shown to them.

An international fact-finding committee formed of all women international experts from US, UK, France, Germany and Sri Lanka reported, "sexual violence was being used as a strategy for terrorising women belonging to minority community in the state."

Describing the sexual violence against Muslim women and girls, Renu Khanna writes "consisted of forced nudity, mass rapes, gang-rapes, mutilation, insertion of objects into bodies, cutting of breasts, and carving of Hindu religious symbols on women's body parts."

When Indian politician Ehsan Jafri begged the Hindutva mob to spare the women, he was dragged into the street & forced to parade naked for refusing to say "Jai Shri Ram." He was then beheaded & thrown onto a fire, after which rioters returned and burned Jafri's family to death.

Recent BBC documentary looked at Modi’s role where he was the chief minister at the time. It cited a previously unpublished report from the British Foreign Office that concluded that Modi was “directly responsible for a climate of impunity” that led to anti-Muslim violence.

11 Hindutva men gang-raped pregnant Muslim woman Bilkis Bano & killed 7 members of her family during #Gujarat Muslim Genocide in 2002.

They were sentenced to life imprisonment.

They were set free last year and were openly welcomed with sweets and garlands.
