To all my followers. I’m preparing my presentation for the @CTNTE Conference to be held next Wed. In short, the UK can learn many valuable lessons from the Mexican experience in addressing the inflation problems caused by the knock-on effects of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

I have tweeted before about the Mexican policy solution to the #CostofLivingCrisis , and will retrieve the tweets if I have time. Russia is using oil & gas prices as a war weapon against the West. We need to respond in kind with fresh anti-inflation policies. In summary we need:

1. a new basic-needs inflation index; 2. negotiated links of wage-rate increases to inflation using this index; 3. govt-led food policy in which the large food companies work together to achieve economies of scale in producing basic goods and services;

4. Reformed assessment of this change in policy using #SpaceTimeEconomics and space-time models, not #NeoclassicalEconomics and not #GeneralEquilibrium models; 5. A recognition that people, institutions and localities are diverse with different problems and needs in this crisis.

I presented these ideas at our conference which was both live streamed and recorded. We shall prepare separate segments of the conference as a series of social-media clips for easy access. Our purpose and ambition is to spread the word: we can and will make it happen - #NetZero

Many plans, schemes, projects, trials to mitigate climate change have been done. We can learn from them, addressing the cost-of-living crisis by local schemes towards #NZE3 or #NetZeroE3 which combine #NetZero with local projects, funded national and monitored regionally & are E3

Environment-Energy-Economy (E3) but also meet the critical criteria of being Equitable, Effective, and Efficient. Why not? Reform, resurgence, the bursting of buds open in the Northern spring. Out with the past obsolete and dead #NeoclassicalEconomics

Embrace #NewEconomics #SpaceTimeEconomics See money as an illusion, both good & bad, but unreal, an idea that binds us together in our economy, homes, schools, companies, & our governments. Buyers & sellers, workers & bosses, leaders & the led, we are all Institutionalised.
