Great start this morning on fuel cell vs combustion for land based applications (transport mainly): the opportunities and challenges of fuel cells in terms of durability and cost, and the quest for power density across the board (and certainly for flight).

Good presentation by @UKAeroInstitute on the energy & technological (tank, refuelling, weight, material, insulation) challenges of hydrogen in aviation. Some great analogy on the ‘single electron’! Many challenges to take on in addition to platform economics on route to net zero.
Fascinating set of presentations on marine applications by @CMB_TECH and @BMT_Global, underlining their vision of future ships but also considerations on the journey to get there amidst uncertainty, lack of clear regulation and in the context of asset in-service life. ⛴️
Key role for ICE remains, moving forward, with electric power suitable for short-range, ferry applications. Ammonia seen as having potential in marine, though not on passenger vessels due to toxicity. 🛳️
