Happy #WorldWaterDay!

We are proud to announce the major cleanup dates for our upcoming Monongahela River Cleanup Series! Be sure to save these dates on your calendar now. Signups are now available for the first upcoming river cleanups>>> flipcause.com/hosted_widget/…

Every year our crew selects a River of Focus to conduct a multi-week cleanup project. They live & work on their boats as they caravan a barge of trash dozens of miles from the edge of our county to the confluence where our 3 major rivers (Ohio, Allegheny, & Monongahela) meet.

Along the way, they conduct volunteer cleanups that involve the communities along the river & small staff ones.

Over the years our crew has seen the makeup of our river's material pollution change from legacy waste (like household appliances) to more and more plastic.

The immense quantities of plastic waste in our waterways, along w/ a continued presence of vehicle tires, pose major health threats to wildlife & humans. The chemicals within them break apart & enter the food web.

That's why it's critical we continue to actively remove the buildup of dangerous pollution in our waterways AND rally together to advocate major changes in industrial production from economic & governmental leaders.
