What is Color Theory in Design?

Definition:
- Color Wheel
This circular diagram shows the relationships between primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
By understanding how colors interact on the wheel, designers can create harmonious and visually appealing designs.
- Color Temperature
This describes the warmth or coolness of a color, and it's measured on the Kelvin scale. Warm colors (lower temperatures) create a sense of energy and excitement, while cool colors (higher temperatures) create a sense of calmness and serenity.
- Hue
Hue refers to the pure pigment of a color, without any tint or shade. It's the origin of the color and can be any of the six primary or secondary colors.
Tints, tones and shades are variations of hues, or colors, on the color wheel.
- Shade
Shade is a hue or mixture of pure colors to which only black is added. It contains no white or grey. Shade darkens the color, but the hue remains the same. When mixing a shade, begin with the color itself, then add black one drop at a time. Which darkens the color. For… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
- Tint
Tinted color remains the same color, but it is paler than the original. When mixing a tint, always begin with white paint and gradually mix in small amounts of color until you've achieved the tint you want. For example, red + white = pink.
- Tone
