1/. In the centre of the swirling madness of London traffic there’s a green oasis: Buckingham Palace Gardens

At his #Coronation, we hope #KingCharles will announce the creation of a new London park - #QueenElizabeyhMemorialGardens - a gift to the nation👇

2/. The proposal - a decade in the making - is to use a strip of the gardens to create a park that would be a legacy to the Queen & transform this congested corner of London

Arched entrances would be cut into the wall & a new fence would built to ensure Palace security & privacy

3/. A place of tranquility & beauty,
#QueenEzliabethMemorialGardens is attracting high profile support & is described as “a beautiful idea that will be very popular with people both living in or visiting London” by @ZackPolanski, @LondonAssembly member

4/. Unveiled after the Queen died, the plan is described by @antonio_pisano, an architect who specialises in climate resilient design as “imagining a rich & diverse landscape which would include urban rewilding, meadows & woodland with rich biodiversity”👇metro.co.uk/2022/09/28/pla…

5/. This new London park would be situated in a beautiful walled garden, carved from just a sliver of the 42-acre Buckingham Palace Gardens

It will be an act of care towards London & its fragile ecosystem & a living legacy to #QueenElizabeth

If you support the idea please share

6/. From the top deck of a bus, you can catch a glimpse of the site for #QueenElizabethMemorialGardens

Walking or cycling along this stretch of busy road, you’ll agree that a park would transform the area

#KingCharles could unveil it at his #Coronation

7/. In 2015, we wrote to the Palace with an outline of our proposal: a new park - #QueenElizabethII Gardens - to mark the Queen’s 90th b’day

@ClarenceHouse replied, informing us that Prince Charles was “interested to learn of the idea” which had been passed on for consideration

8/. In 2022, we updated the proposal with the idea of opening the gardens to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

After her death, the proposal for #QueenElizabethMemorialGarden was made public & attracted a lot of support from Royalists & Republicans alike

9/. The idea for a new London park containing a butterfly meadow, woodland playground & cycle paths, has been widely welcomed

Given his ecological & environmental credentials & his commitment to sustainable approaches to planning, it’s hoped that #KingCharles will also back it

10/. Once we get the green light for the project from #KingCharles - hopefully at the #Coronation - we’d love your ideas & energy to turn #QueenElizabethMemorialGardens
into a reality

The gardens are for everyone so tell us what you’d like to see there👇

We’re hoping he will use his #Coronation to announce the creation a park in memory of the Queen:
#QueenElizabethMemorialGardens

“A proposal we can all get behind”👇#KingCharlesCoronation #KingCharlesIII

12/. “Access to green space is vital & I’m sure these gardens will be very popular with people both living in or visiting London” @ZackPolanski, @TheGreenParty deputy leader

Will the #KingCharles green light the #QueenElizabethMemorialGardens at his #Coronation?
